  • Decide on the number of Sittings

If at this stage the client wishes to proceed with a commission and has a good idea of size and or budge an indication as to the number of sittings required and the time span involved can usually be given. Alternatively compositions can be tailored to suit a budget outlined from the outset.

Usually at this point it is customary to ask for an advance which, depending upon the value of the painting, is either 1/3 or 1/2 of the overall fee.
